Dentons Global Advisors Expands Senior Government Relations Team in the US

Patrick Casey, Michael Drobac, Gregory Walden Join Rapidly Growing Offering

Washington, DC – June 6, 2022 — Dentons Global Advisors, an elite multidisciplinary advisory firm, today announced Patrick Casey, Michael Drobac and Gregory Walden have joined as Partners of its United States (US) Government Relations subsidiary. This group brings a unique perspective on the tools and relationships clients need to be heard in an increasingly crowded policy space.

The addition of Messrs. Casey, Drobac and Walden comes amid rapid expansion of the firm’s US Government Relations offering. Since its founding in January 2022, the team has grown to 15 professionals, with recent hires including Associate Partners Sean Brebbia, who joins following his time as Oversight and Investigations Counsel for the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; Margeaux Plaisted, who joins after more than a decade of public policy work at Dentons, having previously served as an aid on Capitol Hill as well as in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs; and Lara Tennyson, who joins from Dentons and specializes in emerging technology policy and human rights policy.

Mr. Casey brings 30 years of legal and political experience, advising clients on a wide variety of commercial issues, including healthcare, employment and labor-related disputes. He has twice been the Democratic nominee to represent Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District in the US Congress and has served in appointed positions to elected officials in his home state.

Drawing from deep experience in the private and public sector, Mr. Drobac specializes in the intersection of technology and public policy with a focus on how technology and the internet are transforming all sectors of the economy. He helps clients from the technology and telecommunications sectors address complex challenges to their businesses through technology changes and assists them in maximizing revenue, which often includes advocating before Congress and federal agencies in support of policy objectives.

With years of experience in government, private practice and teaching, Mr. Walden represents a full spectrum of transportation clients, including airlines, air taxi operators and drone operators and manufacturers, among others. He is considered one of the leading experts on transportation law and policy.

“We are thrilled to welcome Pat, Michael, Greg, Sean, Margeaux and Lara to our team,” said Edward Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of Dentons Global Advisors. “Having them with us further strengthens our ability, alongside our partners at Dentons, to anticipate and meet the needs of our clients operating in this dynamic, complex and regulated environment where the boundaries are increasingly blurred between what is legally required and what is needed to protect their valuation, reputation and permission to operate.”

Patrick Casey

Patrick Casey joins Dentons Global Advisors from Elliott Greenleaf, where he focused on commercial litigation representing labor unions, businesses, and civic and nonprofit organizations. Prior to this, Mr. Casey founded and managed his own law firm and pursued a US Congressional seat in what was one of the closest races in the 1998 political cycle.

Michael Drobac

Michael Drobac joins from Dentons, where he was recognized by The Hill as one of the top lobbyists for the last six years, and by the National Law Journal as a Government Relations Trailblazer in 2019. Mr. Drobac has unique in-house experience having previously worked as the first head of government affairs for digital streaming giant Netflix, as well as in senior roles at the Online Publishers Association (currently Digital Content Next), IAC/InterActiveCorp and Expedia. Prior to his tenure in the private sector, Mr. Drobac served for nearly 10 years in the offices of three US senators.

Gregory Walden

Gregory Walden joins from Dentons. He previously served as chief counsel of the US Federal Aviation Administration and as associate deputy attorney general with the US Department of Justice, where he also was special assistant and counselor to the assistant attorney general of the Civil Division. Mr. Walden currently teaches aviation and automated vehicles law classes at George Mason University School of Law. Earlier in his career, he served as associate counsel to President George H.W. Bush and as a member of the Interstate Commerce Commission.
