Gregory Walden is a Partner at DGA Group Government Relations and is based in the Washington, DC office.

With years of experience in government, private practice and teaching, Mr. Walden represents a full spectrum of transportation clients, including airlines, air taxi operators and unmanned aircraft operators and manufacturers, among others. He previously served as chief counsel of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and as associate deputy attorney general with the U.S. Department of Justice, where he also was special assistant and counselor to the assistant attorney general of the Civil Division. Mr. Walden currently teaches aviation law and automated vehicles law at George Mason University School of Law. He is a co-author of Aviation Law: Cases and Materials (2006) (Carolina Academic Press). He is also a contributor to CATO’s 2021 publication of Eyes to the Sky: Privacy and Commerce in the Age of the Drone. He is aviation counsel for the Small UAV Coalition, and for two years chaired the Stakeholder Consultation Body for the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems (JARUS).

Mr. Walden also served as associate counsel to President George H.W. Bush and as a member of the Interstate Commerce Commission.  After law school, Mr. Walden served first as a Court Law Clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and then as a Law Clerk to D.C. Circuit Judge Robert H. Bork.

Mr. Walden holds a JD, magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law and a BA, cum laude, from Washington & Lee University. He is a member of both the California and District of Columbia bars.
