Valerie Green is General Counsel at DGA Group, and is based in Washington, D.C. She oversees all aspects of legal affairs, risk management, ethics and compliance for the firm. 

Ms. Green has more than 25 years of experience practicing law and developing and executing advocacy strategies in the public and private sectors. Before joining DGA, she served as general counsel at GTT Communications and executive vice president and chief legal officer at Ligado Networks, a Virginia-based communications company, where she led the company’s legal, regulatory and public affairs efforts. 

Previously, Ms. Green served in the Obama administration as assistant to the president and director of presidential personnel at the White House, as well as deputy special counsel and special assistant to the president. Her government experience also includes serving as general counsel at the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency now known as AmeriCorps. There, she helped develop and launch innovative partnerships to expand national service and advance policy priorities for federal agencies and communities. 

Ms. Green has also practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore; Venable; Wiley Rein; and People for the American Way. 

A native Washingtonian, Ms. Green is a graduate of Barnard College and New York University School of Law.
