Stephen Hammond
Stephen Hammond is a Senior Advisor at DGA Group and is based in London. An expert in the UK government and politics, he is also a specialist in health, infrastructure, and financial and economic policy.
Mr. Hammond worked in financial services for asset management and major investment banks before becoming a Member of Parliament. In 2005 he was appointed Opposition Spokesman on Transport, specialising in rail, road and maritime policy. He held roles as Minister for Transport and Minister of State for Health, as well as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Communities and Housing department during the Conservative period of government.
In Parliament, Mr. Hammond chaired the important APPGs for Infrastructure and Wholesale Finance. He has extensive knowledge of European affairs and chairs the conservative forum, which discusses European policy and cooperation.
Mr. Hammond has a degree in economics and professional investment analysis qualification. Outside work, he can often be found working on his wife’s family sheep farm and is known locally for his charity celebrity chef events. He is also well-known for his love of all things Portuguese and is a Board Member of the Anglo Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.
