Saumya Varma is a Senior Director at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in New Delhi. As part of the firm’s South Asia practice, she advises clients across sectors such as technology, workforce development, electronics manufacturing, and media and entertainment, , with a particular focus on energy and infrastructure. She brings deep expertise in navigating policy and regulatory frameworks and in shaping market entry and growth strategies.
With over a decade of experience in public affairs, Saumya previously led the legislative and policy research unit of a national political party in India, where she worked closely with over 90 Members of Parliament on policy, legislation, advocacy, and regulatory issues. In this role, she also collaborated with several state governments on policy formulation, design, and communication, leading manifesto drafting efforts for one national and three state elections. She leverages this experience to advise clients on navigating India’s complex public sector landscape, supporting market growth and managing high-stakes situations.
She holds an M.P.P. from the University of Oxford and an M.A. in modern history from Jawaharlal Nehru University, along with a B.A. (Hons.) in history from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. She is an Oxford and Cambridge Society of India scholar and a Leader of Tomorrow at the St. Gallen Symposium. She regularly develops and runs educational games on policy and the Indian parliament for students and young policy enthusiasts.
