Ming Tan is a Senior Advisor at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in Singapore. She draws on her extensive background to assist clients with innovation policy and technology governance and philanthropic-private-public partnerships in DGA-ASG’s East Asia & Pacific practice.  

Dr. Tan advises clients navigating the intersection of technology policy, innovation governance, and philanthropic-private-public partnerships across Southeast Asia. She brings to DGA-ASG more than two decades of institution-building and policy influence spanning the private sector, government and civil society, reflecting the multi-stakeholder nature of governance in rapidly-changing sectors.   

Dr. Tan is founding Executive Director of the Tech for Good Institute, Southeast Asia’s first technology policy think tank, where she now serves as Senior Fellow. TFGI is a recognised knowledge partner on digital governance with regional bodies such as ASEAN and APEC, Southeast Asia governments and corporations. Her work on AI governance, platform accountability, digital inclusion, and sustainable digitalization has been cited and reprinted by the Asian Development Bank, the World Economic Forum, and ASEAN. Before TFGI, Dr. Tan served as Managing Director of IPOS International, part of Singapore’s Intellectual Property Office, where she led the merger of three public-agency subsidiaries into a unified team of over 100 IP professionals delivering specialist capabilities in patent analytics, IP management, and innovation education to government agencies and the private sector across the region.  

Earlier in her career, Dr. Tan spent sixteen years at the COMO Group, a Singapore-headquartered portfolio of lifestyle businesses operating across fifteen countries. As Founding Executive Director of the COMO Foundation, she built a philanthropic institution supporting women and girls across 22 countries. She also led the Group’s sustainability practice and served as an in-house strategy advisor on acquisitions, brand integration, and capability development.  

Dr. Tan’s board and advisory roles reflect the breadth of her networks in Singapore’s public and civic life. She is a Director of Singapore’s National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, chairs the Asia Advisory Board of EHL (Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne) and has served on the boards of St. Joseph’s Institution International and the Esplanade — Theatres on the Bay, Singapore’s national performing arts centre.  

A Singapore Rhodes Scholar, Dr. Tan holds a doctorate in Modern History from the University of Oxford. She received her Master of Arts in History of Technology and her undergraduate degree in Science, Technology and Society from Stanford University.
