Michael Kobori

Michael Kobori is a senior advisor at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in Berkeley, California.

He is a globally recognized expert in sustainability, human rights and cross-sector collaboration. He has served as a board director for global public companies and early-stage private companies, as well as chief sustainability officer at global apparel, food and beverage, and retail corporations.

Mr. Kobori brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate strategy, ESG integration across global supply chains and operations, and cross-sector partnerships focused on innovative environmental and social impact initiatives.

He currently serves as an independent director on the board of Avalo, a trustee of The Asia Foundation and a senior advisor to early-stage companies. He is a frequent speaker at board director conferences and international sustainability forums.

Mr. Kobori earned a Master of Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also completed his undergraduate studies. He spent a year at International Christian University in Tokyo and studied sustainable finance at the University of Oxford.

Mr. Kobori is married to Sachiko Nagai. They live in Berkeley and have two adult daughters. He is an avid chef and enjoys cycling, swimming, fishing and gardening. He recently completed his PADI Open Water Diver certification.
