Michael Auerbach
Michael Auerbach s a Partner at DGA Group and is based in New York and London. He leads the firm’s Business Intelligence practice, informed by extensive experience as a business consultant and commercial diplomat.
Mr. Auerbach specializes in strategic intelligence and risk management advisory across various sectors, including financial services. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President at Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group.
Mr. Auerbach holds board director positions in several public and private companies, with a focus on disruptive enterprises navigating regulatory challenges. He is currently the lead independent director of Canaccord Genuity, a global, full-service investment banking and financial services company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He also serves as lead independent director of ATAI Life Sciences NV, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm listed on Nasdaq, and is the founder and chairman of Subversive Capital.
Mr. Auerbach is deeply involved in philanthropic endeavors. He serves on the boards of the Theodore C. Sorensen Center for International Peace and Justice, the KiDS Board of NYU’s Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, Next for Autism (producer of Night of Too Many Stars), Finding a Cure for Epilepsy (FACES) and the Sophie Gerson Healthy Youth Foundation.
Mr. Auerbach holds an M.A. in international relations from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A. in critical theory from the New School for Social Research. Residing in New York with his wife and teenage son, Mr. Auerbach has recently become an avid road cyclist. He is also a passionate book collector and reader of political and intelligence history. Mr. Auerbach produced and was the inspiration behind the award-winning 2020 podcast “Wind of Change,” which explores the intriguing convergence of Cold War espionage and 1980s heavy metal.
