
Martin Sklenár
Martin Sklenár is a Senior Advisor at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in Bratislava. With extensive experience in security and defense policy, he advises clients in the defense industry on opportunities and strategies related to the growing European defense sector.
In his work, Mr. Sklenár draws on more than 20 years of broad experience with governmental and inter-governmental cooperation on security and defense issues. He has spent most of his career representing the Slovak government at various levels in NATO and European Union negotiations and working bodies, including as the Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic in 2023. As a Distinguished Fellow at GLOBSEC, a Central European think-tank, Mr. Sklenár provides analyses and commentaries on the transatlantic relationship, European rearmament, industry capacity scale-up, and financing requirements. He often comments for national and European media.
Mr. Sklenár held several positions in both the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. As part of his diplomatic career, he was posted to Brussels, Belgium and Washington, DC. In 2010, he was deployed to Pristina, Kosovo as a UN Volunteer.
Mr. Sklenár received a post-graduate degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Matej-Bel-University in Slovakia and studied at the Harvard Extension School and the George C. Marshall Center.
