Maria Wouters Rentero is a Senior Director in DGA Group’s Health & Life Sciences practice and is based in Brussels. With nearly a decade of experience in health policy and public affairs, she advises pharmaceutical, medtech and patient organization clients on shaping the policy and business environment, with particular expertise in rare diseases and oncology.

Ms. Wouters Rentero leads client engagements across the health and life sciences sector, from strategy development through program delivery. She designs integrated public affairs and communications strategies that help clients navigate market access, regulatory change and stakeholder engagement, and translates complex, fast-moving policy developments into clear, actionable strategies.

Before joining DGA Group, Ms. Wouters Rentero was a senior account director at a health policy and communications consultancy, where she advised European and global clients on public affairs, led advocacy and stakeholder engagement strategies, and built multistakeholder coalitions to advance client priorities. She began her career at Cosmetics Europe, where she served as public affairs manager and led the trade association’s positioning on sustainability and consumer protection policy.

Ms. Wouters Rentero holds a specialized master’s degree in interdisciplinary European studies from Université Saint-Louis Bruxelles, as well as a master’s degree in international relations and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Université Libre de Bruxelles. A native of Madrid, she has lived in Brussels since her university years. She is a native French and Spanish speaker and is fluent in English.
