Lieven Annemans

Lieven Annemans is a Senior Advisor and a founding member of DGA Group and is based in Ghent. A leading health economist and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) expert, he advises policymakers, academic institutions and the healthcare industry, providing strategic insights on healthcare value, policy and system-level decision-making. 

Widely respected for his international and cross-therapeutic expertise, Dr. Annemans is currently Senior Full Professor of Economics of Health and Well-being at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Ghent University, Belgium, and guest professor at the Vienna School of Clinical Research. He is Past-President of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and has over 30 years of experience in health economics research, specialising in Health Technology Assessment (HTA), value assessment, and market & patient access. 

Dr. Annemans has held key advisory roles, including Advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs and Chair of the Flemish Health Council. He has authored more than 350 scientific papers and four books, including Health Economics for Non-Economists (2018), and has also conducted pioneering research on patient well-being and happiness.
