Jan Harm Kamphuisen
Jan Kamphuisen is a Partner at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in Dubai. He advises clients in the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East and North Africa region on government relations and geopolitics, and supports government organizations with their public policy needs.
Mr. Kamphuisen brings more than two decades of experience advising clients in the nexus of public policy, international relations and business. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kamphuisen worked at a global risk consultancy firm, where he headed up the political risk consulting practice for the MENA region. Mr. Kamphuisen subsequently managed the firm’s Europe and Africa political risk teams in London, before moving to Yangon where he led its Myanmar operations.
Earlier in his career Mr. Kamphuisen worked as a lawyer in Cairo and Dubai, where he advised clients on corporate and commercial issues in various North African and GCC countries. He started his career at the European Space Agency, where he worked on legal aspects of space programs before assuming a broader role focused on the Agency’s technology transfer and business incubator programs.
Mr. Kamphuisen holds an M.A. in European and international law and a degree in Arabic language and culture from Leiden University in the Netherlands. He also studied international relations at the University of Poitiers, France. He is a native Dutch speaker. He also speaks English, French, German and Arabic, as well as some Italian and Spanish.
