Florian Chapalain is an Associate Partner at DGA Group and is based in Brussels, where he leads the EU Public Affairs energy practice.  

With 15 years of experience in government relations across trade associations and listed companies, he advises clients on how to effectively engage stakeholders, contribute to evidence-based policymaking, and capture emerging business opportunities. His expertise spans multiple energy sectors, including heating and cooling, power grids, renewables, hydrogen, and e-mobility. In the past, he successfully led campaigns on EU initiatives such as the internal market for electricity directive, the clean vehicles directive, and the renewable energy directive. Prior to joining DGA in 2025, Mr. Chapalain served as head of EU public affairs at Ballard Power Systems, a global leader in hydrogen fuel cell technologies, where he oversaw advocacy and market development efforts.  

Mr. Chapalain holds an M.A. in European studies from Sciences Po Rennes. A native French speaker, he is also fluent in English and Spanish.
