Enrique Ruelas, MD
Dr. Enrique Ruelas is a Senior Advisor at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in Mexico City. He works with clients in Mexico and Latin America, specifically on supporting clients in the life sciences and health care sectors.
Dr. Ruelas is President and CEO of the International Institute for Health Futures, and the International Center for Quality and Leadership of Healthcare Organizations (CICLOS). He is also Professor of Health Systems Management in the School of Medicine of Universidad Panamericana, in Mexico City.
Prior to joining DGA-ASG, Dr. Ruelas served in several high-level roles in the Government of Mexico, including as Vice Minister for Innovation and Quality in the Ministry of Health, where he oversaw a comprehensive effort to modernize the country’s health care system. He also served as Secretary of the General Health Council in Mexico.
In addition to his public sector work, Dr. Ruelas has held leadership and advisory positions for several medical and health care organizations, private companies and universities, including as President of the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico and President of the International Society for Quality in Health Care. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is an inaugural member of the International Academy of Quality and Safety in Health Care.
Dr. Ruelas received his medical degree from La Salle University in Mexico City. He holds an MPA from the Center for Economic Research and Education in Mexico City and an MHS in health administration from the University of Toronto. He has also completed coursework in management from the Pan-American Institute of Top Management in Mexico City.
