Atman Trivedi
Atman Trivedi is a Partner at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in Washington, D.C. He leads the firm’s South Asia practice, informed by over 20 years of expertise in India, extensive work in Asia, and experience across diplomacy, business, law and politics.
Mr. Trivedi supports companies and non-profits in developing and expanding opportunities, as well as navigating regulatory and policy shifts in South Asia. Prior to joining DGA-ASG, Mr. Trivedi was Managing Director at Hills & Company, advising leading clients on global geopolitics, trade, investment and sustainability. He was Senior Director for Policy in Global Markets at the U.S. Commerce Department, playing a central role in the creation of the U.S.-India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue. As Chief of Staff at the U.S. State Department’s nonproliferation bureau, he worked on the diplomatic team that eliminated Syria’s declared chemical weapons.
Mr. Trivedi also served as Chairman John Kerry’s counsel on India and Southeast Asia on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, leading his policy activities on India and Southeast Asia. His analysis has appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy and Bloomberg View, among other leading publications. Early in his career, Mr. Trivedi was an international trade lawyer at WilmerHale LLP.
Mr. Trivedi earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School, an M.A. in international policy studies and a B.A. in international relations from Stanford University. He is also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center, an Adjunct Fellow at the Pacific Forum, a National Committee on U.S.-China Relations member and an Asia Society Asia 21 Fellow.
