Andy Rothman is a Senior Advisor at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in San Francisco. With over 40 years of diplomatic and private sector experience across China and the U.S., he advises clients on the opportunities and risks of China’s economy and the evolution of U.S.-China ties.
Mr. Rothman spent 17-years as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer focused on China and Taiwan. His last diplomatic assignment was as the head of the macroeconomics and domestic policy office at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. He entered the private sector in 2000, when he was the Shanghai-based China macro strategist for the CLSA and then as the China strategist for Matthews Asia, where his clients included global wealth managers, private banks, and sovereign wealth funds.
Mr. Rothman, who lived in China for more than 20 years, is the Founder and CEO of Sinology, LLC, an advisory firm focused on helping institutional investors and companies understand the Chinese economy and navigate U.S.-China relations. He is also the Senior China Fellow at the Advisory Council for the Asia Society of Northern California.
Mr. Rothman received his MPA from The University of Texas- at Austin’s LBJ School and his B.A. from Colgate University.
