Washington, D.C., October 15, 2024 — DGA Group, an expert-led advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Karen Skelton as a Senior Advisor. With more than 35 years of experience advising U.S. Presidents, Vice Presidents, Cabinet Secretaries, and Fortune 100 corporations, Ms. Skelton will leverage her extensive expertise to help clients across the firm navigate the complexities of changing market dynamics in multiple sectors, including complex litigation, artificial intelligence, transportation, infrastructure and energy.

As demand for sustainable solutions increases in the US and globally, DGA Group offers a comprehensive suite of services, including corporate strategy, regulatory guidance, public policy advocacy, market entry support, stakeholder engagement, and transaction advisory.

Most recently, Ms. Skelton served as a Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and John Podesta, President Joe Biden’s top Climate Diplomat. Her work during this period was pivotal in shaping political, policy, and communications strategies that are accelerating the nation’s transition to a clean energy economy. Ms. Skelton’s collaborative efforts with private sector stakeholders – including venture funds, equity firms, banks, and non-profits – helped communities and businesses secure access to hundreds of billions of dollars in grants, tax credits, and loans.

Among her notable achievements, Ms. Skelton co-led the establishment of the Interagency Working Group on Coal & Power Plant Communities & Economic Revitalization, which is responsible for delivering more than $170 billion in federal resources aimed at revitalizing America’s energy communities. She also played a crucial role in organizing private and public sector engagement as Congress deliberated on the Inflation Reduction Act and managed a White House initiative that brought together philanthropic organizations, contributing more than $3 billion in pooled and aligned funds to implement the President’s climate agenda.

Currently, Ms. Skelton serves as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, where she lectures and writes about America’s energy transition and the implications of the 2024 elections on its pace and scale. This work will enhance the insights and expertise available to our clients at DGA Group.

“Karen’s impressive experience significantly bolsters our ability to empower clients to tackle challenges and seize new opportunities in this evolving energy landscape,” said Edward Reilly, CEO of DGA Group.
