Prem G. Kumar
Prem Kumar is a Partner at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in New York City. He leads the firm’s Middle East & North Africa (MENA) practice, leveraging more than 25 years of experience on the Middle East on behalf of clients, and serves on DGA’s global Executive Committee.
Mr. Kumar advises clients on geopolitical and macroeconomic risk, building government relations and policy development capacity, and originating and analyzing investment opportunities that have a nexus with policy. He has consulted for C-suite leaders of multinational corporations, foundations, sovereign wealth funds and others seeking to capitalize on new opportunities or resolve policy-related challenges in the region or beyond.
Before joining DGA-ASG, Mr. Kumar was Senior Director for the Middle East and North Africa on the National Security Council staff for the Obama administration, where he oversaw U.S. policy towards the region. Earlier in his career, he was a diplomat with the U.S. State Department, serving in the Middle East, Washington, at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and as a visiting fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. Before joining the State Department, Mr. Kumar was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley in New York City.
Mr. Kumar was educated at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the London School of Economics. He serves on the Board of WIN, the largest family shelter provider in New York City, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.
