Jorge Guajardo

Jorge Guajardo is a Partner at DGA Group and is based in Washington, DC. He has more than ten years of experience advising companies at the C-suite level on market entry, government relations, and communication in China and Latin America. He served as Mexico’s ambassador to China for six years, where he got to visit every province, helped organize two state visits for two Mexican presidents, and led negotiations for trade agreements between both countries. He is a frequent lecturer and panelist in major universities and forums on China, Mexico, supply chains, and the rise of populism.
Earlier in his career, Ambassador Guajardo served as Consul General of Mexico in Austin, Texas, where he helped the Mexican community improve relations with the police department to reduce the cases of employee victimization, and gain access to financial services. His work was recognized by the City Council, which named him an honorary Austinite and by the mayor of Austin by giving him the keys to the city.
Ambassador Guajardo has served as Director of Communications for the governor of his native state of Nuevo Leon, and has been involved in electoral politics, both as a candidate and campaign advisor. He has a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
An Instrument rated pilot, Ambassador Guajardo enjoys flying with his son and wife to visit his daughter in school.
