Jennifer Walmsley

Jennifer Walmsley is a Partner at DGA Group and is based in the London office.
She specializes in advising companies and investors on managing the increasingly complex area of ESG strategy and communications. Ms. Walmsley has nearly 20 years’ experience of working at board level with some of the largest companies globally on issues ranging from climate change and human rights to board structure and executive remuneration. She brings deep insights from multiple perspectives having been a journalist, an investor and worked within a regulatory environment.
Ms. Walmsley joined DGA Group from Teneo, where she established the ESG practice in London. Prior to that, she ran her own consultancy providing strategic advice and expertise to investors on their approach to responsible investment and stewardship in light of the challenges posed by today’s developing social and regulatory climate.
Her previous roles include at Hermes Fund Managers, where she spent 13 years and built and led the shareholder engagement team, responsible for Hermes’ EOS voting and engagement activities globally.
Ms. Walmsley was also previously head of investor engagement at the UK Financial Reporting Council, which is responsible for the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes. She began her career as a financial journalist at the Economist Group.
Ms. Walmsley is a member of the investment committee of the Big Exchange, an impact investing platform co-founded by the Big Issue and a trustee at Stepping Stones Learning and Leisure a south-London based charity which provides activities and support for adults with learning disabilities. She has previously served on a number of external bodies including the Lloyds Banking Group stakeholder panel, the advisory board to the Chartered Banker Professional Standards Board and the Shareholder Affairs Committee of the National Association of Pension Funds
Ms. Walmsley has a 2:1 MA (Oxon) in Modern Languages and Philosophy.
