Former White House Advisor Ja’Ron Smith Joins Dentons Global Advisors Government Relations
Washington, DC – February 9, 2022 — Dentons Global Advisors, an elite multidisciplinary advisory firm, today announced Ja’Ron K. Smith has joined as Partner at Dentons Global Advisors Government Relations. A former White House advisor on domestic policy and legislative affairs, Mr. Smith will help clients navigate complex policy issues affecting their business operations and priorities. He will be based in the Washington, D.C. office.
The addition of Mr. Smith further expands the bench of experts at Dentons Global Advisors Government Relations, a subsidiary launched by the firm in January 2022 with a senior team of Capitol Hill and campaign veterans.
Mr. Smith’s policy expertise includes regulatory affairs, economic mobility, social justice, finance, and housing and urban development. Most recently, he served as Executive Director for the Center for Advancing Opportunity, which offers research-based solutions to social and economic issues in underserved communities. Previously, Mr. Smith served as a Deputy Assistant to the President in the White House Office of American Innovation and as Director of Urban Affairs and Revitalization, spearheading initiatives such as criminal justice reform, workforce development, and opportunity zones, among others. Prior to his time in the White House, Mr. Smith served in senior staff roles on the House Financial Services Committee and for Senator Tim Scott (R-SC).
